Why I Push So Hard: Top WoW Gamer Killed By Psychiatry

Jovanny Carballo ECT Victim

Jovanny Carballo’s life ended the second the psychiatrist convinced his mom that he needed “Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT)” better known as Electric Shock.

Before that he was on a cocktail of medications that were never studied for how they react with each other, all in high dosages:  Celexa, Vistaril, Klonopin, Seroquel, Lithium.

Prior to all this, he was a brilliant gamer and my 2v2 team mate on the highest levels of competitive World of Warcraft, where we reached the highest rank attainable, Merciless Gladiator.

He had taken a job designing sprinkler systems at his Uncle’s business and was getting along in the job fine.

His long history with psychiatric “care” had had zero results. He admitted to me that he was forced to take more pills or they would lock him up for longer. But what he didn’t know is that the pills he was forced to take had side effects of suicidal ideation.

And worse yet, their next recommendation of ECT has had countless reports of suicide, and very common memory loss.

His mom had been trying to convince Jovanny to take ECT as she was told it was the “only” choice left if they had any hope in salvaging him, in treating his severe depression.

After 6 months of convincing, he agreed and was taken to Southern Winds Hospital in Fort Lauderdale Florida for his ECT.

He signed the paperwork for his ECT and was led into the room. As soon as he saw the equipment, the straps & the machine he said “hell no” I’m not going to do this, and he resisted, changing his mind from the consent form. As soon as he started to resist, 6 doctors came out with gloves, injected him and forced him into “treatment” day after day.

I spoke to him after he was released from the hospital and he told me he had ECT.

He said it was “like getting struck by lightning” and since I had not met anyone who had received Electro Shock so was trying to be open minded, I asked “how was that?” He took another 10 seconds then asked me if I wanted to get struck by lightning?

“ECT had not helped one bit and made things a lot worse.” Which I could tell because he was now taking 10 seconds to respond any question, everything was processing so slowly.

Just two weeks later he went to a shooting range and shot himself in the head. A swift suicide which is all-too-common in ECT victims.

He never got another chance to be with his family, to develop his career, to ever see any of his loved ones ever again.

I posted a review of this on the Hospital’s Yelp page and they had it removed because the review was “not based on first-hand experience” - but in this case it’s no longer possible for Jovanny to leave the review because his fate has been sealed.

AI tells us that ECT usually costs $2,500 per treatment and 10 treatments are typical. So that’s $25,000 in profits for destroying a young man’s life.

If you’re being pressured to get your loved ones ECT because it’s “the last resort” know that it very well may be the last treatment they ever get.
